What this section is for

May 13, 2026 · by Matt · intro

If you have landed here, you are probably either a volunteer running sound at your church on Sunday morning, or someone responsible for that volunteer’s life being better. Either way, welcome.

This section is for short, practical articles about church audio. The goal is not to turn anyone into a professional engineer. The goal is to give your Sunday morning volunteer a few more tools, and to give your tech director a few more answers when something goes sideways during a rehearsal.

What we will cover

We will cover the things we coach our subscribed churches through every week. Not abstract theory. Specific, applied advice.

  • Setting gain structure on the consoles you actually use
  • Reading a stage plot you did not draw
  • Talking with worship leaders about in ear mixes without it becoming a fight
  • What to do when feedback starts to bloom mid sermon
  • How to save and recall scenes so Sunday is not a fresh start every week
  • When a problem is actually a stage problem, not an audio problem

How to use these

Read them when you have ten minutes between rehearsals. Send them to your volunteers. Argue with us if we got something wrong. We learn from this too.

If something here is unclear, let us know. The next article might be the one that explains it better.

Want this kind of coaching in your own room?

The articles are free. The hands on coaching is what most churches actually need. A 30 minute call will tell you if we are a fit.
